Rear Admiral Carey Joins Military Advisory Committee

The GI Film Festival is pleased to announce that Rear Admiral [Ret.] James J. "Jim" Carey has joined the GI Film Festival's Military Advisory Committee.

 

Admiral Carey is National Co-Chairman of The Flag & General Officers' Network, Chairman of the NATIONAL DEFENSE COMMITTEE, and Chairman of the Future Leaders for America Foundation.  He is a retired Navy Surface Warfare Officer and served as Vice Chairman of the U. S. Federal Maritime Commission during the Reagan Administration and as Chairman during the George Bush Sr. Administration. 

 

Admiral Carey is a graduate of Northwestern University in Evanston , IL and also studied at Northwestern's Kellogg School of Business Management for an MBA in Business.  In addition, he was President of the Reagan Administration Presidential Appointees Organization during the Reagan presidency and sits on the Board of Directors of the Reagan Administration Alumni Association.

 

Admiral Carey is married to Arlene Patricia Carey and has two grown daughters, Lynn Margaret Carey who works for CBS News Channel 4 in Denver , CO and Sarah Ann Carey Cancel who is employed by the San Diego County School System and teaches advanced courses at Chapman College .
