Director, Military Veteran Sheldon Lettich Joins Entertainment Advisory Committee

The GI Film Festival is pleased to announce that director, screenwriter, producer, and military veteran Sheldon Lettich has joined the GI Film Festival’s Entertainment Advisory Committee.

A former U.S. Marine, who spent a year in Vietnam with the First Marine Division, Lettich has had a long career in Hollywood as a writer, director, and producer.  He co-wrote RAMBO 3 with Sylvester Stallone, wrote Jean-Claude Van Damme's first starring role, BLOODSPORT, and directed a number of Van Damme's more well-known films, including LIONHEART and DOUBLE IMPACT.

A number of his movies deal with the subject of armed conflict, such as the French Foreign Legion film, LEGIONNAIRE, and also with returning veterans, such as ONLY THE STRONG and last year's THE HARD CORPS, which starred Van Damme as an Army veteran returning from Iraq with PTSD issues.  Lettich is also co-author of the renowned Vietnam play, TRACERS.
