The
GI Film Festival is pleased to announce that director,
screenwriter, producer, and military veteran Sheldon Lettich
has joined the GI Film Festival’s Entertainment Advisory
Committee.
A
former U.S. Marine, who spent a year in
Vietnam
with the First Marine Division, Lettich has had a long
career in
Hollywood
as a writer, director, and producer.
He co-wrote RAMBO 3 with Sylvester Stallone, wrote
Jean-Claude Van Damme's first starring role, BLOODSPORT, and
directed a number of Van Damme's more well-known films,
including LIONHEART and DOUBLE IMPACT.
A
number of his movies deal with the subject of armed
conflict, such as the French Foreign Legion film,
LEGIONNAIRE, and also with returning veterans, such as ONLY
THE STRONG and last year's THE HARD CORPS, which starred Van
Damme as an Army veteran returning from
Iraq
with PTSD issues. Lettich
is also co-author of the renowned
Vietnam
play, TRACERS.
