The GI Film Festival, the nation’s first and only film festival
dedicated to the American Armed Forces, announced today that
“Brothers at War,” recipient of the GI Film Festival’s
Best Documentary Feature award in 2008, has earned a domestic
theatrical distribution deal with the prestigious Samuel
Goldwyn Films. “Brothers
at War” follows the exploits of first-time director Jake
Rademacher as he sets out to understand the experience,
sacrifice, and motivation of his two brothers serving in
Iraq
.
“This is a tremendous victory for Jake Rademacher and for the GI Film
Festival. We are
very proud of our association with ‘Brothers at War’ and
for the role we played in the film’s success,” said GI
Film Festival Co-Founder and President Brandon Millett.

The GI Film Festival hosted the red-carpet World Premier of “Brothers
at War” on Friday, May 16, 2008 before a jam packed audience
that included top military brass, active duty military,
veterans, military families and Hollywood celebrities.
Award winning actor Gary Sinise introduced the film.
Mr. Sinise, who received the GI Film Festival’s GI Spirit Award in 2007
for his charitable work on behalf of American GIs, served as
Executive Producer of “Brothers at War,” along with David
Scantling, recipient of the Secretary of Defense Medal for
Outstanding Public Service. Producers
are legendary Norman S. Powell ("American Valor,"
"24," "Gunsmoke") and Jake Rademacher.
