Four
Star General Larry Ellis completed a distinguished military career
as commanding general of the U.S. Army Forces Command (FORSCOM).
He retired in July 2004 after more than 35 years of active
duty service. General
Ellis orchestrated the training, mobilization and deployment of more
than 500,000 soldiers and more than one million tons of equipment to
locations worldwide. A

Bosnia and Herzegovina

Vietnam

Korea
. As
deputy director for strategic planning and policy at U.S. Pacific
Command, he supervised the training and performance of
U.S.
military forces throughout the
Far East
. As
the Army's deputy chief of staff for operations, General Ellis
oversaw multiyear, multibillion-dollar programs. He directed
the development of comprehensive strategic plans supporting the
Army's mission. General
Ellis has earned several military awards, including the Defense
Distinguished Service Medal, the Army Distinguished Service Medal
and the Combat Infantryman Badge.
He has a master's degree from
Indiana
University
and a bachelor's from
Morgan
State
University
.
His other honors include the NAACP National Service Award and
an honorary master of strategic studies from the U.S. Army War
College.
