Captain
Dale Dye Joins GIFF Panel The
GI Film Festival, which will be held on Memorial Day Weekend 2007 at the
Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, DC,
is pleased to announce that decorated military veteran, actor, and
military technical advisor Captain Dale Dye has joined the GI Film
Festival. Captain Dye will
participate in the festival’s “Hollywood and the Military” panel
discussion. Captain Dye served in Vietnam in 1965 and 1967 through 1970, surviving 31 major combat operations. He emerged from Southeast Asia with numerous decorations, including a Bronze Star for valor and three Purple Heart medals for wounds suffered in combat. Following his retirement from the military, Captain Dye worked for Soldier of Fortune magazine before leaving for Hollywood. In
the last 20-plus years, Captain Dye has appeared in more than 60 movies
and television programs, including Saving Private Ryan and The
Great Raid and Platoon.
