America's Marine Aviators

7:00 - 8:30pm Tuesday, May 12 - The world premiere of " America 's Marine Aviators" at The National Archives Experience in the William G. McGowan Theater.   Along with the filmmakers Dana Altman and Jeff Bolton, a number of historic, inspirational and legendary civilian and Marine Corps figures will be in attendance.

" America 's Marine Aviators" is a powerful and detailed, 90-minute film that intimately exposes the raw emotions, motivations, victories, sacrifices, and hopes of U.S. Marine pilots and their families.  The film delves deeply into the closed world of military families; including stories of the long, painful, but required separations that enable Marine Aviators to pursue their mission.

Congressional Reception and exclusive screening of the film, Lt. DanBand: The Documentary

5:30 - 7:30 pm:  Private Congressional Reception on Capitol Hill honoring members of Congress who served in the military.  The 2008 reception featured keynote speakers Academy Award winning actor Robert Duvall and MPAA Chairman Dan Glickman.  Co-sponsored by USO International, the 2009 reception will be held in the Russell Senate Caucus Room and will feature a special presentation honoring Medal of Honor recipient Senator Daniel K. Inouye.  Invited participants include:  Academy Award-winning actor Jon Voight, Senator John McCain and all military veterans serving in Congress.

8:30 - 10:30 pm:  "Work in Progress" exclusive screening of the feature film Lt. DanBand: The Documentary,  following actor Gary Sinise as he and his Lt. Dan Band entertain our troops worldwide and the many incredible organizations that support our heroes and their families.  The film is directed by military veteran and Hollywood filmmaker, Jonathan Flora.

7:00 pm - 9:00 pm:  Private special screening of the MGM major motion picture "Valkyrie," starring actor Tom Cruise co-sponsored by USO Metro DC.  Guests of honor will include wounded warriors from Walter Reed and Bethesda Naval hospitals as well as local GI heroes. 

9:30 - 11:00 pm:  VIP Reception and After Party in the Carnegie Rotunda.
