Military Veteran, Filmmaker Jonathan Flora Joins Festival

 

The GI Film Festival, which will be held on Memorial Day Weekend 2007 at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington , DC , is pleased to announce that military veteran and filmmaker Jonathan Flora has joined the festival line-up.  Flora will take part in the festival’s “ Hollywood and the Military” panel discussion.

 

Flora is a veteran of the U.S. Army’s 82d Airborne Division, and an award-winning producer for the worldwide DVD releases by The Walt Disney Company in Burbank , California , including Disney Pictures, Touchstone Pictures, Miramax Films and Hollywood Pictures.  In addition, Flora directs commercials and music videos.  As a writer, his articles and columns have been included in numerous publications and websites.

 

Jonathan is also the writer/director of A Distant Thunder, the critically acclaimed and award-winning movie that is changing hearts across the nation, including numerous screenings on Capitol Hill.  Jonathan and his wife Deborah recently received a letter from President Bush thanking them for their efforts.  Not your typical Hollywood movie, A Distant Thunder has been hailed by the Los Angeles Daily News, Ted Baehr’s Movieguide, FilmThreat, WorldNetDaily, National Review, NewsMax, and many more.

 

Jonathan received his B.S.A. in Television Performance and Production and his M.S.A. in Marketing, both from Ohio University .
