Chuck
Norris Joins Hollywood Advisory Committee
The
GI Film Festival, which will be held on Memorial Day Weekend 2007 at the
Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, DC,
is pleased to announce that Air Force veteran and international action
star Chuck Norris has joined the festival’s Hollywood Advisory
Committee.
Chuck
Norris, well-known for his long-running CBS television series “Walker
Texas Ranger,” has starred in more than 20 feature films, including
“Delta Force,” “Missing in Action,” and “Invasion USA.”
Prior to his career in acting, Mr. Norris was a martial arts star, winning
many martial arts championships, including being a six-time undefeated
World Professional MiddleWeight Karate Champion. He is also the
author of his New York Times bestselling autobiography, “The
Secret of Inner Strength.”
In
addition to his long and distinguished acting career, Mr. Norris is also
known for his charitable work. An Air Force Veteran, having served
with security forces in South Korea, Mr. Norris received the Veteran
Foundation’s “Veteran of the Year” award in 2001 for his
philanthropic work with children and military veterans.
Mr.
Norris has served as a Veterans Administration spokesperson, visiting over
12 V.A. hospitals and speaking with World War II, Korean and Vietnam War
Veterans including one from World War I. He also supports the United
Way and the Make-a-Wish Foundation, while serving as a motivational
speaker for numerous Christian ministries.
