Brandon L. Millett

Festival President

Brandon Millett, President of the GI Film Festival, is a seasoned communications professional with 15 years of experience in media relations, public relations, writing, editing, fundraising, and development.  For the last 8 years, Brandon has served as Editor -in-Chief of The Verdict, a monthly publication with a circulation of over 150,000 that has raised more than $4 million for a national non-profit organization.  His opinion editorials have been published in top newspapers and magazines, including The Chicago Tribune, The Baltimore Sun, and The San Diego Union Tribune.  Brandon has participated in political debates and interviews on numerous radio stations, and produced and hosted his own talk radio program in the Washington , DC area.  As a public relations consultant, Brandon worked with Fortune 500 companies, as well as numerous non-profits and a variety of other organizations.  He also served as Director of Publications for the Leadership Institute, an organization that trains college-aged students on how to win political campaigns.  Brandon earned an MA degree in psychology from Antioch University with a concentration in political psychology.  He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in political science from the University of New Hampshire .

 

 

MAJ Laura A. Law

Festival Director

Laura Law has served the nation for over 17 years in the US Army and US Army Reserve.  Her patriotism has led her to duty stations in Korea , Turkey , Bosnia , Germany , Colorado and Virginia where she held several leadership roles including the key positions of Company Commander, Assistant Political Advisor, Watch Officer, Counterintelligence Officer, and Deputy Theater Intelligence Officer.  Currently Major Law is the subject of a national recruitment media campaign for the Army reserve:  www.goarmyreserve.com/laura.  For the past six years on the civilian side of business, Laura has worked in management positions with Target Corp., Pfizer Inc. and Roche focusing on sales, supply chain, and distribution.  Laura is also the president of a non-profit organization that focuses on ending sex trafficking called Not Too Young to Care. Major Law earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Systems Engineering and English Literature from the United States Military Academy at West Point .

 

 

David A. Borgal

Director, Development

David Borgal is the founder and director of The Bottom Line, a Boston-based non-profit organization that helps at risk students earn their college degrees.  David built The Bottom Line from the ground up, from 25 students served in 1997 to more than 500 today.  He has supervised every phase of the organization’s growth, from developing the curriculum to training staff to raising more than $900,000 to support the organization’s programs.  Prior to launching The Bottom Line, David served as a financial aid advisor for the Higher Education Information Center and as a college counselor for the Satellite Academy , an alternative high school for at risk students in New York City .  David has earned his Master’s Degree in Education from Salem State College and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Northeastern University .

 

 

Jacqueline Law

Director, Special Events

Jacqueline Law has over ten years of experience in event planning, from conception to implementation, including corporate trade shows and meetings, seminars, conferences, public festivals, concerts, public speaking affairs, black tie affairs, luncheons, non-profit fundraisers, art gallery openings, fashion shows and nightlife events.  More recently, she has worked as an independent consultant, executing events for high-profile clients, including, Nokia, Cirque du Solei International, Guess and the City of San Francisco, The Energy Protection Agency and The National Council for Science and the Environment..  Jacqueline has also produced numerous civic events, such as the San Francisco Coalition launch and the San Francisco International Style Festival.  Events she has produced have been featured in the New York Post, the L.A. Times, San Francisco Chronicle, Times of India, Manila Times, Lucky Magazine, and the Daily News Record.  In addition to event production, Jacqueline served as one of the founding team members of Table for Six International, a successful international event service for single professionals, and served as Editor-in-Chief for the fashion magazine Style.  Ms. Law attended the Academy of Art in San Francisco , and majored in design.

 

 

Carolyn Davis, 

Director, Military Advisory Committee

Carolyn Davis served 11 years as an Intelligence Officer for the United States Army. She held positions as a platoon leader, battalion intelligence officer, battalion operations and training officer and division collection manager and with assignments in Germany, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Iraq, Arizona and Georgia. Her service in the Global War on Terror and Operation Iraqi Freedom resulted in the award of a Bronze Star Medal. Carolyn maintained her military affiliation as a major in the United States Army Reserve until March 2007. After a successful military career, Carolyn accepted a position with Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) as a Systems Engineer in support of several new technology development initiatives. She transferred from engineering to intelligence analysis and served SAIC as a counterintelligence analyst. Staying in the intelligence field Carolyn is currently a program manager for the Homeland Intelligence Solutions Operation of SAIC. Her customers include the Counterintelligence Field Activity, Defense Security Service, Federal Bureau of Investigation and others. Carolyn holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in American History from the United States Military Academy at West Point. She also holds a Master of Global Studies with certifications in both Homeland and International Security from the University of Denver, Graduate School of International Studies and is pursuing a Master of Business Administration through the University of Maryland’s Smith School of Business.  

 

 

Nancy Hogan,

Director, Special Needs

Nancy Hogan currently serves as an executive with the Paralyzed Veterans of America.  After graduating from the United States Military Academy , Ms. Hogan successfully served her country in the US Army until a sky diving accident caused her to medically retire.
